Experience matters. It can mean the difference between successfully addressing bad behaviors and succeeding to create new ones. When you choose The Fine Canine, you're putting your trust in professional dog trainers who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the training room; over 40 years of combined experience in training, behavior modification, community education and service.
We're very passionate about what we do and that's evident in the thousands of dogs we've helped train and rehabilitate over the years. We are extremely proud to have made a difference in the lives of so many pet owners, and we're confident that we can help you enjoy many years of fine canine companionship with your pet as well!
The Fine Canine has a sincere interest in promoting educated homes for shelter and rescue dogs and puppies as well as canines with special needs. If you are thinking of adopting a shelter dog and want to know if it's right for you, please give us a call and we'll be happy to advise you on your situation.
We provide dog training services, including puppy training, dog obedience training, dog boarding and training, dog daycare training, dog therapy training, dog agility training, dog rally obedience training, canine good citizen training, and dog behavior counseling, using proven methods of instruction.
If your dog is exhibiting unwanted behaviors and is in need of behavior modification, we can assist you. We offer private behavior counseling sessions with you and your dog to understand and diagnose the problems you're having, recommend solutions and teach you how to incorporate them to achieve results.
We provide professionally trained and handled canines for use in television, film, print, special events and live work. We help select the right dog to meet the specific requirements for each individual job and we provide the expertise of professional handlers, trainers and wranglers on set to ensure a successful shoot.
We provide AKC and Pet Partners certifications for dogs that meet the specific training requirements. The AKC certifications include AKC Star Puppy, AKC Canine Good Citizen and AKC Community Canine. The Pet Partners certification is for dogs that graduate from a Pet Partner's approved therapy training program.
To help dog owners better understand their breeds and to help those seeking to own a pet dog pick the right breed for their situation, we've compiled — and continue to build — a resource library on our site about the various dog breeds across all dog groups as well as our assessments of them that you can peruse online.
Building a better relationship with your dog often involves participating in activities together that you can both enjoy. To that end, we offer canine clubs for adults and for kids that graduates of our training programs can join. This includes Canine Drill Team for adults, DuPage Therapy Club for therapy dogs and 4H Canine Champions Club for children of all ages.
We provide dog training classes, boarding and daycare programs at the followng locations. We also offer in-home private counseling upon request.
Is Dog Training & Puppy Training for Me?
Any dog owner who wishes to improve or enhance their relationship with their pet is a candidate for our training programs. We can help you understand and modify unwanted behaviors in your dog, instruct you on the proper techniques to having a well trained dog, lay a strong foundation for you and your new puppy, and even teach you the handling skills necessary to successfully compete in dog agility trials with your canine.
We also offer a dog boarding and training program for dog owners who want the peace of mind of having their pets trained by experienced trainers, canine good citizen training and AKC certification programs for dog owners who wish to certify their pet's training achievements, and a dog therapy training program for pet owners who wish to get involved in animal-assisted therapy.
And yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks!
